This game taught me how to type.
Trying to play it now, but its moving far too slow. Now, the message I see is 'to move faster hit Ctrl+F12.' Now, my issue is I'm on a laptop, I do not have the F buttons.

We were able to install it on an old PC with Windows XP and did not even try dosbox as not really sure how to install dosbox without maybe messing up the PC as we are not very PC literate. Anyhow, the game runs normally EXCEPT for the fact that while it accepts me saving games & giving the save games a title, when I try to restore any saved game (F5), I just get exited from the entire game just the same as if I had really chosen to exit??? Could anyone help here? I was so pleased to get hold of this game, but now I am a bit disappointed. (thanks)

I loved this game when I was little. I was so excited to find it again, however the game always freezes on me when I talk to the butler. Is anyone else having this issue?

Loved it in the 90s but when we got a new computer I couldn't finish it. Now maybe I can. Had a lot of fun with it

The Hugo Trilogy was re-released as for Windows 3.1 under slightly different names. The graphics are identical, but there are new sounds effects, and the music is much nicer. You still have the option of controlling Hugo by using the arrow keys and typing commands, but you can also use the mouse to click on where you want Hugo to go, and you can left-click to look at objects or right-click to take or use them. The 'infinite score' bug from Hugo's House of Horrors is fixed in the Windows remake. Overall, the game retains all of the charm of the original, but makes it a bit easier to navigate, and the music and sound are a bit easier on the ears. There are three episodes in this game, with only the first episode playable in the shareware version.
